Derek Robbie to Volunteer for RAD at PRI

Bellingham, MA, November 30, 2013–Derek Robbie, driver of the #27L Pro 4 Modified, may have run his last auto race for the 2013 season but that doesn’t mean he’s sitting still.  The 2013 New England Pro4 Modfieds limited division champion is already revving into high gear for the next racing season and the next chapter of his life.  Since winning the championship, Robbie, a senior in high school this year, has been busy setting a personal best record of 16.14 for 3 miles in his last (high school) cross-country race,  finalizing college applications and making plans to give back to those who’ve helped him achieve success.

To that end, he’ll travel to Indianapolis in December to volunteer for RAD (Racing Against Drugs) at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show.  Robbie will work the RAD booth with fellow RAD racers and spokespersons, speaking about and answering questions about the RAD program and their mission to fuel a drug-free future through racing.  He’ll sell raffle tickets for a Bell racing helmet and a custom built racing seat to raise funds for the organization.

“The same drive and determination required in the race car led to success in other areas of my life,” said Robbie.  “But drive and determination only get you so far.  True success takes a willingness to work with others.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis and support RAD in any way I can.”
