Bellingham, MA, June 25, 2013–Racing Against Drugs (RAD) Spokesperson Derek Robbie, driver of the #27L Pro4 Modified race car, recently gave a speech in support of making positive choices and drug-free living at a DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) graduation ceremony in his hometown of Bellingham, MA on Monday, June 17th.  The accomplished driver was invited to speak to approximately 200 hundred 6th grade graduates of the Bellingham DARE program and their families at the ceremony held at Bellingham Middle School by Officer Lenny Gosselin of the Bellingham Police Department, beloved K9 and DARE officer who also spearheaded the creation of the Bellingham Police Department Youth Service Center.

Robbie spoke about the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.   “It’s very important that I keep my body drug free to fuel both racing and running,” said Robbie, who is a valued member of the Bellingham High School cross country team as well as a race car driver.  “I hope that my appearance and my words inspired those in the audience, both students and their families, to make positive, drug-free choices that keep them high on life and laughter not drugs.  I associate getting high (on life) with personal achievement, following the RAD pledge (see below) to best of my ability each and every day.”
